With Long Island Sound and Candlewood Lake, as well as the Housatonic, Thames and Connecticut Rivers, the Nutmeg state has a wide variety of places to boat and fish. Maritime history is a big part of the culture of Connecticut, which is home to Mystic Seaport, the Coast Guard Academy and the Navy's first submarine base. Visit our

Connecticut State Boating Regulations
The Connecticut Safe Boating Certificate is proof that a boater has taken and passed an approved boater education course. The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (CDEP) currently has a mandatory boater education requirement requiring all boaters to have the Connecticut boating license on board when the vessel is underway.

In Connecticut, boaters must successfully complete an
in-class boating safety course with a proctored exam, but you can take a practice quiz and review the Connecticut Safe Boating Course Manual online for free
at BoaterExam.com™.
